One Fine Day

One Fine Day is a community zine produced by the people of South Algonquin for each other, our community, and everyone who visits.  A zine (pronounced 'zeen', as in magazine) is a noncommercial, often homemade or online publication, usually devoted to specialized and often unconventional subject matter. In South Algonquin, we are nothing if we are not unconventional! While the magazine is professionally printed (we distributed 5000 copies in 2022), it is a home-made creation, complete with lots of good intentions, and yes, mistakes too.

One Fine Day is not just a book or magazine, but rather the collective enthusiasm, thoughts, wishes and memories of so many people in our communities. The name is a play on the legendary local stories and storytellers those who live here know and love. It's also a call for visitors to this magical place to learn about just how much there is to do here if you want to experience one fine day in our township. Read on to learn about the people who live here, our history, and all the local businesses eager to serve you while you visit with us. Enjoy!
